Getting settled

Howdy ya'll (A weird phrase here up north),
I have been here in Minneapolis for about a month now and praise God for the safe travel and provision He has made for me over the last month. I arrived in the city at my new home on August 1st (I'll include a pic w/this post). I'm living here with a couple named Nick and Kasey Nowalk and another guy named Jared Hanks. I wanted to be able to post a picture of all my new housemates, but everyone has been so incredibly busy that we honestly have not all been here at the same time yet. Nick works at the church as the Ministry Assistant for Urban Ministries, is a TBI apprentice, teaches classes on Jonathan Edwards at church, and just finshed a summer Hebrew course. Kasey works full-time as a receptionist at Fairview Children's Clinic, plays on a Christian hockey team called the Lamplighters, will be teaching ESL classes this fall through Minneapolis Adult Education and taking graduate classes at Hamline University. Jared actually doesn't move in until next week, but works at Foot Locker and will be starting college as a freshman at the U (that's what they call The University of Minnesota here) next week.

As for me, I am now working as a part-time custodian at the North Campus of the church, will begin full-time substitute teaching next week, am becoming more familiar with the area and the church, and am praying about which ministries to get involved in. One right now that I am considering is the All Nations ESL Ministry, which is a gathering of international students from the area to learn English and study the Bible. I also will be entering a new small group on Thursday nights, which should be strengthening and challenging, and a Missions Fellowship, which meets once a month. Lastly, I am really excited about starting the Nurture Program, which kicks off with orientation next weekend. Wow! Many things are already filling my schedule. Please pray for me that I would be able to properly balance receiving encouragement from the body, giving loving service to the body, and feeding my soul daily with the presence of Jesus! I am more convinced every day that the goal of life is the enjoyment of the presence of God! Love you all and pray you would endulge yourself today in the River of Eternal Life! Please let me know how I can be praying for you.
Blesssings,
