A Holy House

A poem dedicated to Small Group
Christmas 2009

How are historic buildings built? But by hard work and foresight quilt
Together into now and then, still-in-process.....soon the end
Of all that vision saw ahead, better than potential....reality instead

Thus we are God's holy house, which He forever strives to souse
With conformity to He alone who is our holy Cornerstone

His tools of transformation shown to be, we the material community
Some bricks who stand firm on the truth, hard to destroy yet hard to move
While others as if fluid mortar, though high-maintenance, hold together
This structure that needs both to stand, neglecting either sure quick-sand

How does this blue-print get worked out? By elements filled with Spirit-grout!
We everyday-exhort, equip, spur, serve, support with more than lip
But with also our master glue, that being love in me and you
Chosen to love, serve, protect, this project overseen by Chief Architect.
